The Federation of Vermont Lakes and Ponds (FOVLAP) Annual Meeting is Monday, July 27. FOVLAP is the umbrella organization for lake and pond associations throughout the state. FOVLAP works with local lake associations and with state agencies to advocate for state action, policy, and funding for Vermont lakes. The annual meeting brings together lake people from around the state along with state officials. This year, the meeting will be virtual. The agenda includes an appearance by the governor as well as the new Department of Environmental Conservation commissioner, Peter Walke. There will also be brief reports from the various lake associations around the state which is always interesting and informative. In addition, the agenda includes a presentation on watershed assessment and a report on the Lake Eden watershed action plan.
